What Is a Heart-Wall? Understanding The Emotion Code Heart-Wall

What Is a Heart-Wall in The Emotion Code?

A Heart-Wall is an energetic barrier made of trapped emotions that forms around the heart. According to The Emotion Code, these trapped emotional energies can accumulate over time when difficult experiences are not fully processed.

The subconscious mind creates the Heart-Wall as a form of protection, but over time it can block emotional connection, intuition, and the ability to fully experience joy and love.

If you’ve ever felt emotionally blocked, disconnected from your true self, or like there’s an invisible barrier between you and the life you want—this may be your Heart-Wall speaking.

As a certified Emotion Code practitioner - — and the creator of my own healing method that goes deeper than emotional clearing alone —one of the most transformative tools I work with is something called the Heart-Wall. And releasing it can be life-changing.

In this post, you’ll discover:

  • What a Heart-Wall is

  • How it forms

  • Why it matters

  • How The Emotion Code can help you release it

  • What happens when it’s gone

If you're new to energy healing, you can learn more about how it works in my Body Code guide here.

What Is a Heart Wall?

A Heart-Wall in the Emotion Code is an energetic barrier made of trapped emotions that forms around the heart. It is a protective energetic ‘wall’ made of trapped emotions, created by your subconscious mind.

When an experience feels too overwhelming to process—grief, heartbreak, stress, trauma—your body may “trap” the emotional energy instead of fully releasing it. Over time, these trapped emotions can build up around your heart.

Dr. Bradley Nelson, the creator of The Emotion Code, discovered that while this Heart-Wall may protect us in the moment, it often leads to:

  • Emotional numbness

  • Disconnection from others

  • Repeating patterns of pain

  • Even physical symptoms

Each layer of the Heart Wall is a separate trapped emotion. You only have one Heart-Wall, but it can be made of many layers, built up over a lifetime.

Curious whether your Heart Wall is ready to be released? Your body already knows — the Deep Reset is where we find out.

**Dr Brad has recently released a new book called The Heart Code - to help clarify things and understand about the Heart Code and Heart Walls I wrote an article called What Is The Heart Code (And What It Actually Means For You)

Why Does the Heart Build a Wall?

The heart isn’t just an organ—it’s the energetic center of love, connection, intuition, and expression. Research from the HeartMath Institute shows that the heart emits a magnetic field far more powerful than the brain.

When we experience emotional pain (betrayal, loss, heartbreak), the subconscious may build a Heart-Wall to shield us. Helpful in the short-term, yes—but over time it can:

  • Block love and intimacy

  • Dull joy and creativity

  • Prevent full emotional expression

Can We Inherit Heart-Wall Emotions?

You can’t inherit a full Heart Wall, but you can inherit the trapped emotions that form its layers.

In sessions, I often find inherited trapped emotions—passed down through generations—woven into someone’s Heart-Wall, waiting to be released by the one who’s ready.

Releasing the Heart-Wall with The Emotion Code

During a session, I use gentle muscle testing to communicate with your subconscious and identify the trapped emotions forming your Heart Wall. Using magnetic energy, we release each layer quickly and safely.

Each released emotion is like removing a brick from the wall. Many people feel lighter immediately; for others, the shifts unfold more gradually.

On average, it takes about 3 sessions to fully release a Heart-Wall, though every journey is unique.

For some people, their heart-wall isn’t ready to be released yet - and there is other healing that needs to take place first. Remember that the heart-wall is a protective mechanism created by our subconscious so it needs to feel safe before it can fully release the heart-wall. That’s why I always recommend that my clients start with a Deep Reset session and we can remove the heart-wall as part of the session if the subconscious is ready. You can learn more about the Deep Reset session here.

What If the Heart Wall Rebuilds?

Yes, it can happen—because life keeps happening. After clearing, a new trapped emotion may form in response to a future event.

But this isn’t failure—it’s a sign that you’re still evolving. And the more emotionally aware you become, the less likely you are to trap emotions in the first place.

What Heart-Wall Clearing Can Feel Like

One client came to me feeling emotionally numb after years of stress and relationship challenges. She said she felt like there was a “wall” between her and the people she loved, even though she desperately wanted to feel closer to them.

During our sessions we began releasing the trapped emotions forming her Heart-Wall layer by layer. After the second session she told me she felt lighter and more open, and she noticed she was reacting differently to situations that would normally trigger her.

By the time we finished clearing her Heart-Wall, sh

e described feeling more emotionally connected to her family and much more at ease in herself.

Every experience is unique, but many people notice subtle shifts like this as emotional layers are released.

If you want to know more about heart wall clearing and what to expect before during and afterthen I have you covered in this blog article.

What to Expect After a Heart Wall Session

Everyone is different. Some people feel immediate relief, lightness, joy—even laughter or tears of release. Others notice subtle shifts over time.

When I cleared my own Heart-Wall, I found myself:

  • More open and chatty (my husband even told me to stop talking so much!)

  • Less triggered by things that used to really bother me

  • More at ease in my body and life

One practice I love to give clients is to ask your subconscious:
💫 “Show me what’s different.”

And when you notice moments of peace or ease, affirm with:
✨ “More of this, please.”
✨ “This or something better.”
✨ “Show me how good it can get.”

This work has changed my life and it honestly does work! But if you want a bit more proof and want to learn more about the Body Code and the Emotion Code then this article might answer you question:Does the Body Code Actually Work?

  • disconnected from themselves

These are often signs that the body’s energy, nervous system, and emotional patterns are out of balance.

The best place to begin is with a Deep Reset Session — a personalised 90 minutes where we ask your body what it's ready to release.

Or ….if this has piqued your curiosity and you want to learn more before diving into a session — I've just put together a free guide that goes deeper into why your body does what it does, and what becomes possible when you work with it at the right level.

It's called "Why Your Brain Fog, Exhaustion and Weight Gain Aren't Random" and it's the missing piece for so many women I work with.
