What Is The Heart Code? (And What It Actually Means for You)
You might have seen The Heart Code popping up recently and thought…
Wait — is this the same as a Heart Wall?
Or maybe:
“Do I have this? And what does it actually mean?”
Honestly… such a good question.
Because while the language might feel new or a bit “out there” — the experience of it?
It’s something I see in women all the time.
What Is The Heart Code?
The Heart Code is the latest work from Bradley Nelson — the same practitioner who developed The Emotion Code and The Body Code.
At its core, it brings attention to something really important:
The heart is not just a physical organ.
It’s deeply connected to our emotional experience.
And more specifically…
How the heart can protect itself when things feel too much.
So… What Is a Heart Wall?
A Heart Wall is essentially a layer (or multiple layers) of trapped emotional energy that builds up around the heart.
It forms as a form of protection.
Not because your body is broken — but because it’s actually very, very smart.
When something feels overwhelming…
Heartbreak
Stress
Loss
Conflict
Pressure
Your body can go:
👉 “That’s too much — let’s buffer this”
And it stores that emotional energy instead of fully processing it.
Over time, those layers build up.
And that’s what we call a Heart Wall.
If you want a deeper explanation of this, I’ve written more about it here:
How The Heart Code and Heart Walls Are Connected
This is where people get confused.
The Heart Code = the concept + awareness
Heart Wall clearing = the actual process of releasing it
So if you’ve been hearing about The Heart Code…
What it’s really pointing you towards is:
👉 the idea that your heart might be holding onto things
And that those things can actually be released.
What This Looks Like In Real Life (This Is The Important Part)
This is where I feel like the conversation often gets a bit… abstract.
Because when I’m working with clients, it’s not theoretical.
It’s real.
I see women who:
feel guarded but don’t know why
struggle to fully open up in relationships
feel emotionally flat or disconnected
keep repeating the same patterns
feel like they’re “holding back” in life
And when we start clearing their Heart Wall…
Things shift.
Sometimes subtly.
Sometimes dramatically.
I’ve had clients tell me:
“I feel lighter — like something has lifted”
“I didn’t realise how closed off I was until now”
“I’m responding differently in situations that used to trigger me”
One of my clients said she could literally feel her body softening during the session.
Another burst into tears — but they were tears of relief, not sadness.
And this is why I love this work so much.
Because it’s not about “fixing” you.
It’s about removing what your body no longer needs to hold onto.
My Own Experience (Because I Think This Matters)
For a long time, I was actually quite a guarded person.
I didn’t like people being too close to me physically.
I kept my circle small.
I was shy.
If I saw someone I knew in public… I’d sometimes pretend I hadn’t seen them 😅
(very introvert on steroids energy)
But since clearing my own Heart Wall…
There’s been a really noticeable shift.
I feel softer.
More open.
More expressive.
My husband and my mum have both said they can see it — even in my face.
I talk more (sometimes a bit too much according to my husband 😂)
I smile at people when I walk past them.
I actually want to connect.
And the biggest shift?
My relationships.
There’s more openness.
More honesty.
More willingness to lean into sometimes difficult conversations instead of avoiding them.
It’s not that I’ve become a different person.
It’s that I feel more like myself — without the protection.
Does Heart Wall Clearing Actually Work?
Short answer?
👉 Yes.
But not because it’s “magic” or some quick fix.
It works because your body already knows what it’s holding onto.
We’re just giving it a way to let go.
If you want a deeper dive into this, I’ve written more here:
Does The Body Code Actually Work?
Also, I have a post where I go into more detail about Heart Wall Clearing which breaks down the process and what to expect.
If You’re Feeling Drawn to This…
This is usually the part where people go:
“Okay… this is me”
And if that’s you — trust that.
Because your body is very good at recognising what it needs.
If you’re curious about your own Heart Wall, I offer a dedicated experience where we gently clear these layers together:
Begin your Heart Wall clearing journey
You don’t need to force anything.
You don’t need to “break through” anything.
Your body will let go of what it’s ready to release.
Sometimes it just needs the right support to do it.
